| 설명 | 식물체 속에 들어 있는 질소를 포함한 염기성 유기 화합물을 통틀어 이르는 말. 독성이 있으며 진통, 진해, 마취 작용을 한다. 니코틴, 모르핀, 카페인 따위가 있다. 질소가 포함되어 있는 염기성이며, 대부분은 비교적 소량으로 사람이나 동물에 현저한 약리작용을 나타내는 유기화합물이다. 보통은 식물에서 유래된 식물알칼로이드를 말한다. 피리딘-퀴놀린-이소퀴놀린-피롤리딘-피페리딘-인돌-트로판-퓨린 등 고리구조를 갖는 것이 많고, 대부분은 무색결정성 고체로 식물의 액포 내에서 산과염을 형성하고 있다. 하나의 식물이 수종의 알칼로이드를 포함하는 경우는 보통이며, 미숙한 양귀비 씨의 유액에서 나온 아편 등에는 약 20종류가 포함되어 있다. |
