| 설명 | 냄새감각. 냄새감각은 비강의 가장 위쪽에서 이루어진다. 콧구멍을 통해 들어온 공기의 일부는 위로 올라가 냄새감각을 일으키게 하고, 일부는 코안을 거쳐, 인두를 넘어가 폐로 이어져 호흡활동을 하게 된다. 코안각을 담당하는 세포는 중추신경계 대부분의 세포가 손상되었을 때 재생이 안되는 것과 별개로 재생이 가능하다. |

| 설명 | 머리와 얼굴의 혈액을 모아 심장으로 보내는 목에 있는 정맥. 목정맥에는 속목정맥과 바깥목정맥이 있다. 머리뼈 한 가운데 있는 윗시상굴-아래시상굴 및 구불정맥굴 및 구불정맥굴을 거쳐서 속목정맥에 이르며, 얼굴의 정맥혈도 얼굴정맥에 모였다가 목 부위에서는 속목정맥에 합류된다. 한편, 얕은머리정맥은 바깥목정맥에 이르게 되고, 속목정맥과 바깥목정맥은 합류하여 상대정맥이 되어 심장으로 되돌아간다. 목에는 이 밖에도 척추뼈정맥과 깊은목정맥이 있으며, 이들도 역시 완두정맥과 합류하여 상대정맥을 거쳐 심장으로 되돌아간다. |
