| uteroglobin | <molecular biology> Progesterone binding protein found in lagomorphs (rabbits, hares etc.), which is also a potent inhibitor of phospholipase A2. Forms an antiparallel dimer, linked by disulphide bonds at either end. A structurally related protein, CC10, is found in lining of pulmonary airways and is also a PLA2 inhibitor. (18 Nov 1997) |

a globulin found in the uterine lumen of some mammals and in the blood and urine of humans; in mice it stimulates and regulates blastocyst implantation. It is under investigation because of various other biological activities such as antiinflammatory actions and acting as a binding protein for various compounds. Called also blastokinin.
