| 설명 | 다른 사람들이 자기를 살피고 쳐다 볼수 있는 상황을 두려워하고 그런 상황에 처하면 수치심을 느끼는 공포장애(phobic disorder)의 일종. 사람을 만나기 전에 미리 예상하고 불안(anticipatory anxiety: 예상을 하는 것 자체만으로 불안을 느끼는 것)을 심하게 느끼므로 사람과 접촉하는 것을 피한다. 흔한 사회 공포증으로는 사람앞에서 말하기를 두려워하는 대화공포(fear of public speaking), 사람앞에서 얼굴을 붉히는 것을 두려워하는 적면공포(erythrophobia), 사람 앞에서의 식사를 두려워하는 식사공포(sitophobia), 사람 앞에서의 글 쓰기를 두려워하는 서필공포, 공중변소를 사용하기를 두려워하는 공중변소공포등이 있음. 이 장애는 아동기 후반 혹은 사춘기 초반에 시작되며 가족적으로 발병하는 경향이 많다. 합병증으로는 과음, 항불안 약물 남용 등이 있다. |

| 설명 | 약을 투여하는 방법에는 여러 가지가 있다. 크게 나누어 보면, 입을 거쳐 위창자계를 통해 넣는 방법과 위창자계를 통하지 않고 바로 혈액으로 넣는 방법이 있다. 위창자계를 통하지 않는 방법으로 가장 흔한 방법은 주사를 이용하는 방법이다. 하지만, 이외에 항문을 통해 넣는 좌약식방법과 혀밑에 넣는 혀밑투여법도 있다. 그러나 대부분의 약제는 경구복용을 하게 된다. 경구복용에 대한 약자는 p.o.(per oral)로 표기한다. 경구복용제의 단점은 복용한 약제가 위창자관계를 거치면서 사람마다 각기 다른 흡수정도와 대사정도를 거치게 되므로 일정한 농도유지가 어렵다는데 있다. 또한 경구복용제의 모양이 캡슐형인지, 혹은 가루형인지에 따라서도 같은 약이지만, 서로 다른 효과를 나타낼 수 있다. |

| 설명 | 입을 통하지 않는 다양한 약품투여 방법을 말함. 주사기를 이용한다. 1)피하주사: subcutaneous injection-피부 밑으로 주사하는 것. 대개 팔의 중간부에 주사한다. 2)진피내주사: intradermal injection-얇게 찔러서 진피내에 주사한다. 주로 알러지 환자의 항원검사에 이용한다. 3)근육내주사: intramuscular injection-위팔이나, 혹은 엉덩이 부위에 주사한다. 이것은 주로 피부에 자극이 심한 약제나 혹은 천천히 작용하는 약제를 많이 주사할 때 사용한다. 4)혈관주사: intravenous(IV) injection-정맥을 통해 주사한다. 어느 정맥이나 가능하지만, 대개 팔뚝이나 발 등의 정맥을 이용한다. 빠른 치료효과를 보기 위해 사용한다. 이때 피부에 자극을 주는 약제이면, 새지 않도록 조심해야 한다. 5) 수막강내주사: intrathecal injection-두개나 척수강내에 주사할 때 이용한다. 6)강내주사: intracavitary injection-공간으로 된 부위에 주사한다. 예를 들어 복부공간이나 흉강내에 주사하여 사용한다. |

| 설명 | 입을 통해 먹은 약물은 흡수된 후 간을 거쳐 병변부위로 운반된다. 따라서 간에서 대사가 되어 약물로서의 효과가 없어질 가능성이 있을 뿐 아니라 간에 독성작용을 일으킬 수도 있다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기위해 간을 통하지 않고 재빨리 흡수되어 병변으로 갈 수 있는 방편으로 직장좌약을 사용한다. 직장의 정맥흐름은 간을 거치지 않고 직접 하대정맥을 통해 우심방으로 흘러들기 때문이다. |

| united states social security administration | The social security administration administers a national program of contributory social insurance whereby employees, employers, and the self-employed pay contributions that are pooled in special trust funds. When earnings are reduced because of retirement, death, or disability, monthly benefits are paid to partially replace lost earnings. Part of the contributions go into a separate hospital insurance trust fund for workers when they become 65 to provide help with medical expenses.
