| 영문 | hemorrhage | 한글 | 출혈 |
|---|---|---|---|

| hemorrhage | <physiology> The escape of blood from the vessels, bleeding. Small haemorrhages are classified according to size as petechiae (very small), purpura (up to 1 cm) and ecchymoses (larger). The massive accumulation of blood within a tissue is called a haematoma. | umbilical artery | <anatomy, artery> Before birth the arteria is a continuation of the internal iliac; after birth it is obliterated between the bladder and umbilicus, forming the medial umbilical ligament, the remaining portion, between the internal iliac artery and bladder, being reduced in size and giving off the superior vesical arteries. Synonym: arteria umbilicalis. (05 Mar 2000) |
