| 설명 | 암(cancer)을 유발하는 물질. 암을 유발하는 물질에는 많은 종류가 있는데 크게 구분하면 다음과 같다. ① 화학적 발암원: 종양을 일으키는 화학물질. 많은 종류가 있으며, 특히 벤젠은 백혈병과 재생불량성빈혈을 유발할 수 있다. ② 세포발암원: 종양을 일으키는 세포 DNA을 말함. 종양의 유전성을 말할 때, 주로 이 기전에 의한다고 설명한다. 즉, 종양을 유발할 수 있는 세포가 몸안에 있을 때, 이 세포가 완전한 종양으로 거듭날 수 있도록, 어떤 자극이 들어오게 되면 악성으로 세포가 변하게 되고 결국은 암이 된다는 가정이다. 이때 종양을 유발할 수 있는 세포를 말한다. 이것은 부모로부터 물려받을 수도 있으나, 방사선이나 혹은 기타 화학적물질에 의해서도 생길 수 있다. ③ 바이러스 발암원: 종양을 일으키는 바이러스 성분. 대부분의 동물들에서는 이런 바이러스에 의해서 종양이 발생하지만, 사람에게서는 바이러스에 의해 종양이 발생하는 경우는 드물다. 대표적인 예는 Burkitt's lymphoma(림프종의 일종:주로 얼굴부위에 잘 발생하며, 아프리카에서 호발한다)를 유발하는 EBV(Ebstein Barr virus)이다. ④ 방사선발암원: 방사선은 대부분의 사람에게서 종양을 유발시킬 수 있으므로 모든 사람은 방사선의 폭로를 피해야 한다. 특히 젊은 사람에게서 방사선을 조사시 갑상샘암의 발생이 증가한다. |
