| recessus lateralis ventriculi quarti | The narrow recess of the ventricle that extends laterally over, and down along the side of, the inferior cerebellar peduncle and the overlying cochlear nuclei; at its tip it opens by way of Luschka's foramen into the interopeduncular cistern of the subarachnoid space. By way of this recess, part of the choroid plexus of the fourth ventricle protrudes into the subarachnoid space. Synonym: recessus lateralis ventriculi quarti. (05 Mar 2000) |
| plexus choroideus ventriculi quarti | One of two vascular fringes of pia mater projecting on either side from the lower part of the roof of the fourth cerebral ventricle. Synonym: plexus choroideus ventriculi quarti. (05 Mar 2000) |
| striae medullares ventriculi quarti | Slender fascicles of fibres extending transversally below the ependymal floor of the ventricle from the median sulcus to enter the inferior cerebellar peduncle. They arise from the arcuate nuclei on the ventral surface of the medullary pyramid. Synonym: striae medullares ventriculi quarti, acoustic striae, auditory striae, Bergmann's cords, medullary teniae, teniae acusticae. (05 Mar 2000) |

| tegmen ventriculi quarti | Roof of fourth ventricle, formed in its upper part by the superior medullary velum stretching between the two brachia conjunctiva (superior cerebellar peduncles), in its lower part by the inferior medullary velum composed of the choroid membrane and choroid plexus of the fourth ventricle. Synonym: roof of fourth ventricle. (05 Mar 2000) |

Synonym: apertura lateralis ventriculi quarti, foramen lateralis ventriculi quarti, foramen of Key-Retzius, foramen of Luschka, Retzius' foramen. (05 Mar 2000) |
| tenia ventriculi tertii | The sharp edge or angle between the superior and medial surface of the thalamus on either side; to it is attached the epithelial lamina forming the roof of the third ventricle. Synonym: tenia ventriculi tertii, thalamic tenia. (05 Mar 2000) |
| mesocolic tenia | See: teniae coli. Synonym: tenia mesocolica. (05 Mar 2000) |
| omental tenia | See: teniae coli. Synonym: tenia omentalis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Tarin's tenia | A slender, compact fibre bundle that connects the amygdala (amygdaloid body) with the hypothalamus and other basal forebrain regions. Originating from the amygdala, the bundle passes first caudalward in the roof of the temporal horn of the lateral ventricle; it follows the medial side of the caudate nucleus forward in the floor of the ventricle's central part (or body) until it reaches the interventricular foramen, in the posterior wall of which it curves steeply down to enter the hypothalamus, with fibres passing both rostral and caudal to the anterior commissure. Coursing caudalward in the medial part of the hypothalamus, the bundle terminates in the anterior and ventromedial hypothalamic nuclei. Synonym: stria terminalis, Foville's fasciculus, Tarin's tenia, tenia saemicircularis. (05 Mar 2000) |
