| 설명 | 항문의 병터 중 가장 흔히 볼 수 있는 병으로서 전 인구의 약 5% 가량에서 볼 수 있으며, 항문 및 항문주위 정맥얼기가 정맥자루처럼 확장된 것이다. 곧창자점막으로 된 것을 속치질, 편형상피세포로 덮여 있는 것을 외치질이라고 한다. 그러나 넓은 의미로는 곧창자 하단-항문-항문 주위조직에 생기는 병. 치질에는 여러 가지의 병태가 포함되며, 그 중에서도 정상인의 항문 주위에 있는 정맥얼기에 기인하는 치질과 항문곧창자 말단에 일어나는 화농성 병으로 인한 항문주위염-항문고름집-치질샛길이 가장 많다. 그 밖에 항문의 찢김, 치질의 탈출에 의한 탈항 등도 넓은 의미에서 치질에 포함된다. 치질은 한국이나 일본을 비롯하여 동남아시아인들에게서 흔히 볼 수 있는데, 그 이유는 섬유성 식품을 다량으로 섭취하므로 배변량이 많기 때문이다. 또한 배변체위(자세)의 부적당한 점도 치질을 한층 더 악화시키는 원인이 된다. 제2차 세계대전 전에는 항문 주위 염증이 치질의 2~5배로 화농성 병이 훨씬 많았으나 항생제가 보급된이래 급격히 감소되어 현재는 그 비율이 역전되었다. |
