| 설명 | 상피세포에서 기원한 악성종양을 암종(carcinoma)이라고 하고, 중간엽조직에서 기원한 결합조직, 뼈, 근육 등에서 기원한 악성 종양을 육종이라고 한다. 예를 들어 골육종(osteosarcoma)란 뼈의 일차적인 악성 종양의 하나로 뼈조직이나 연골 조직을 근간으로 하여 악성 결합조직 기질로 이루어져 있는 것을 말함. 근육육종, 지방육종, 섬유육종도 여기에 속한다. |

| osteogenic sarcoma | <oncology, tumour> A primary malignant bone cancer that arises from the cells which produce bone. It is most commonly seen in the second and third decades of life.
