| 설명 | 카메라에 있어서 필름에 해당하는 눈의 망막은 크게 두 개의 층으로 나눌 수가 있다. 안쪽에 있는 실제의 빛을 감지하는 감각층과 바깥쪽의 외부의 빛을 차단하는 색소상피층이 그것인데 그 사이에는 잠재적인 공간이 있어서 떨어지기가 쉽다. 이 사이가 떨어지면 망막의 감각층이 망막의 색소상피층과 분리되는데 이것을 망막박리라고 한다. 이 망막의 박리에는 여러 가지 원인이 있지만 감각층의 망막에 작은 구멍인 열공(break)에 의해서 그곳으로 눈속을 채우고 있는 액체가 흘러 들어가서 생기는 망막의 박리를 열공성 망막박리(rhegmatogenous retinal detachment)라 하고, 안구의 병터에 의해서 안구내에 섬유조직이 생기고 그것이 망막의 감각층을 잡아 끌어서 망막이 박리되는 견인성 망막박리(traction retinal detachment) 및 망막의 2개의 층에 삼출액이 괴어서 생기는 삼출성 망막박리(exudative retinal detachment) 등 열공에 의해서 생기는 망막박리가 아닌 것을 비열공성 망막박리(nonrhegmatogenous retinal detachment)라고 말한다. |

| 설명 | 혈관이나 혹은 내강을 이루는 관이 막히는 경우를 폐색이라고 한다. 이중 혈관에 있어서 폐색이 발생하면, 그 혈관에 의해 혈액을 공급받는 이하부위에서 허혈(혈액이 공급되지 않아 그 조직이 죽기 직전의 단계. 이 부위는 대사가 감소하고, 온도가 떨어지며, 오래 방치해두면 죽게 된다)이나, 혹은 괴사(세포가 죽는 단계. 심장에서는 경색이라고 부름)에 빠지게 된다. 이때 폐색을 일으키는 경우는 다음 2가지 경우가 있다. 여기서 혈전증이라는 말은 피가 모여서 이른바 “피떡”을 형성한 상태를 말한다. 쉽게 말하면, 피부에서 상처가 생기면, 상처주위로 피떡이 생겨 더이상 피가 흐르지 않도록 하는데, 이런 현상이 피가 굳어서는 안되는 혈관내에서 발생하여, 혈관을 막는 경우를 말한다. 이에 비해 색전증이라는 말은 다른 곳에서 생긴 “혈전”이나 혹은 “지방” “공기”등이 혈액내로 들어와 혈액을 떠돌아 다니다가 크기가 작은 혈관을 막아 폐색을 일으키는 경우를 말한다. |

| 설명 | 머리와 얼굴의 혈액을 모아 심장으로 보내는 목에 있는 정맥. 목정맥에는 속목정맥과 바깥목정맥이 있다. 머리뼈 한 가운데 있는 윗시상굴-아래시상굴 및 구불정맥굴 및 구불정맥굴을 거쳐서 속목정맥에 이르며, 얼굴의 정맥혈도 얼굴정맥에 모였다가 목 부위에서는 속목정맥에 합류된다. 한편, 얕은머리정맥은 바깥목정맥에 이르게 되고, 속목정맥과 바깥목정맥은 합류하여 상대정맥이 되어 심장으로 되돌아간다. 목에는 이 밖에도 척추뼈정맥과 깊은목정맥이 있으며, 이들도 역시 완두정맥과 합류하여 상대정맥을 거쳐 심장으로 되돌아간다. |
