| 설명 | 얼굴을 구성하는 뼈의 한 종류로써, 흔히 말하는 "턱"을 이루는 뼈를 말한다. 얼굴뼈를 이루는 뼈는 위턱뼈(maxillary bone), 아래뼈(mandibular bone), 눈물뼈(lacrimal bone), 코뼈(nasal bone), 광대뼈(zygomatic bone), 보습뼈(vomer) 등이 있다. |

| 설명 | 이 자세는 여러 가지 경우에 사용되어 지는데, 예를 들어 한쪽 폐에 물이 찬 경우에 그냥 보통 서서 찍는 X-선 사진 기술로는 잘 나오지 않는 경우가 많다. 이럴 때, 옆으로 누운 자세로 한쪽으로 물이 고이도록 한 상태에서 촬영을 할 경우엔 이 병적인 상태를 명확히 볼 수 있다. 때로는 만삭이 된 임산부가 바로 누워 있을 경우 태아에 의해 혈관이 눌려 실신하는 경우가 있는 데 이럴 경우에도 이 “옆으로 눕는 자세”를 하면 금방 회복될 수 있다. |
