| 설명 | 허파는 몸과 대기의 가스를 교환하는 역할을 하는 장기이다. 코로 통해서 들여마셔진 공기는 기관, 기관지, 세기관지를 통해서 허파꽈리로 전달된다. 이곳에서 실제 피속의 가스와 대기의 가스와의 접촉이 일어나고 교환이 일어난다. 무기폐란 폐전체 또는 일부분의 폐포속에 공기가 없어지는 것을 말한다. 즉 허파꽈리가 완전히 펴지지 못하고 쪼그라들어 있어서 허파꽈리가 가지고 있던 공기가 없어지고 허파꽈리의 기능인 가스 교환이 일어나지 않는 상태를 말한다. 폐암, 이물질, 과도한 분비물에 의해서 폐포속으로 공기를 소통시키는 통로(기관, 기관지, 세기관지)의 폐쇄가 무기폐의 가장 흔한 원인이다.  |

| atelectasis | <chest medicine, radiology> A term used to describe partial or complete collapse of the lung, usually due to an obstruction of a bronchus (with mucus plug, infection or cancer). Atelectasis is commonly seen immediately in the post-operative period in those who have undergone general anaesthesia. Symptoms of atelectasis include low-grade fever, dry cough, chest pains and mild shortness of breath. Mild post-operative atelectasis is treated with deep breathing exercises and respiratory therapy.
