| 설명 | 유방암에 걸렸을 때 유방을 절제하는 수술방법으로, 암에 이환된 유방과 큰가슴(pectoralis major), 작은가슴근(pectoralis minor)과 겨드랑 림프절 등을 모두 절제하는 방법이다. 이 방법을 사용하면, 치료효과에 비해 너무 지나친 환자의 수술후 합병증을 가져오게 되므로 요즘은 중요신경과 작은가슴근을 살리는 변형근치유방절제술(modified radical mastectomy)를 주로 시행한다. |

| 설명 | 혈액이나 소변에서 실시하는 검사항목. pH검사는 인체의 체액의 산성, 알칼리성을 알아보는 중요한 검사이다. 인체는 약알칼리성에 속하나, 이보다 pH의 증가나 감소가 나타날 경우, 생명에 위험이 발생한다. 인체내에는 이런 산도의 증감을 막기위해, 이른바 완충제들이 많이 존재하며, 특히 허파와 콩팥이 완충작용을 수행하는 주요기관이다. 콩팥은 산도가 높을 경우, 소변에서 산도를 증가시켜 배출함으로써 혈액내의 알칼리성 농도가 증가하도록 한다. 또한 허파에서도, 혈액내에 산도가 증가시 호흡을 증가함으로써 밖으로 산의 배출을 증가시킨다. 이런 허파와 콩팥의 균형은 아주 적절히 이루어지고 있으며, 어느 한 기관의 이상이 발생하면, 이런 균형은 깨어지기 쉽다. |
