| 설명 | 위점막의 염증성 병의 총칭. 그 본태는 아직 불명이지만, 진단법의 진보와 함께 위염의 개념은 변화하고 있다. 근래까지는 특수한 예를 제외하고는 내과적으로 관찰되었을 뿐이고 조직학적으로는 추구되지 않았으나 위내시경이나 위생검에 의한 위염진단의 진보와 함께 그 개념이 급속히 바뀌고 있다. 위염은 원발성 위염과 속발성 위염으로 구별한다. 속발성 위염은 급성위염에 뒤따라 일어나는 것도 있고, 다른 위장질환에 따른 증세로 오는 것, 또는 다른 병의 결과로 인하여 생긴다. 위염의 임상상은 막연하며 특유한 것이 없다. 따라서 원발성 위염은 위액검사와 대변잠혈반응 등을 참고로 진단하던 때를 지나, X선 검사를 하게 된 다음부터는 그 진단의 정확성이 매우 향상하였다. 근래 위내시경검사의 발달로 위점막을 직접 관찰할 수 있게 되어 진단의 정밀도는 더욱 높아졌으나 위액검사와 X선 검사를 포함하는 임상진단에서 위염이라고 진단이 내려진 것 중에는 위내시경검사 내지는 위카메라-위생검에서 기질적인 변화가 증명되지 않는 위증상군이 있다. 이들은 소화불량증-자극위 등으로 부르며, 또는 위신경증에도 속하는 것으로 보고 있다. 이와 같이 위염을 임상적으로 다루는 법은 지금까지 많은 변천을 보여 왔다. 위염의 진단은 조직학적으로 위 전체를 검사하는 일이기는 하나 그 실시는 한정되어 있다. 대개는 자각증-타각소견-위액검사-X선 검사-위내시경검사-위카메라검사-위생검 등으로 진단한다. 위염에 있어서 점막의 염증 중 가장 중요한 변화는 샘조직의 염증이다. 그러나 실제로는 샘조직뿐만 아니라 점막하층-근육틍-장막에 까지 염증이 미치고 있는 것이 있는데, 이와 같은 것들을 총괄해서 위염이라 한다. |

| 설명 | 빛의 전자자기파나 혹은 입자파(α, β, γ선)를 말하는데, 어떤 근원물질에서 생겨 방출된다. 이온쌍을 생성하는 고에너지 방사선(X-선과 감마선)을 말한다. 방사선하면, 주로 전리방사선을 의미한다. 이런 방사선을 이용하여, 가장 기본적인 방사선학적 검사를 할 수 있으며, 이외 치료에도 이용하고 있다. 각 방사선의 종류에 따라 조금씩 인체에 미치는 영향이 다르며, 이를 이용하여 각기 다르게 진단 및 치료에 이용한다. |

| 설명 | 방사선조사의 정도. 방사선생물학이나 인체의 방사선방호에서는 전리방사선의 양, 즉 선량이 문제가 된다. 방사선량에서도 국제단위계(SI)가 채용되어 국제방사선방호위원회(ICRP)의 권고에 따라서 다음의 여러 단위가 널리 사용된다. ① 흡수선량(absorbed dose). 물질의 단위질량이 방사선에 의해 받아들이는 에너지. 이 단위는 방사선 및 물질의 종류가 어떠한 것이더라도 사용할 수 있다. 국제단위는 J/kg이며 이것에 고유한 명칭으로 그레이(gray, 기호 Gy)가 부여된다. 1Gy=100라드(rad). ② 조사선량(exposure) 또는 공중선량. X선 또는 γ선에 한해서 사용된다. 국제단위는 C/kg. ③ 선량당량(dose equivalent). 방사선방호를 위해 사용되는 양. 기호는 H. H는 방사선의 종류와 에너지에 의해 생체에 주는 효과를 보정하는 선질계수(Q)와 그 밖의 인자(예를 들면 선량률, 방사성동위원소에 의한 내부피폭시에는 그 핵종의 체내분포 등)에 근거한 보정계수(N)를 흡수선량(D)에 곱한 것, 즉 H=D-Q-N. 또한 D의 단위를 Gy 또는 rad로 표시하였을 때 H의 단위를 각각 시베르트(sievert, 기호 Sv) 및 렘(rem)이라고 한다. 따라서 1 Sv=102rem. 일반적으로 단위시간당의 선량을 선량률(dose rate)이라고 한다. |

| 설명 | 방사선의 살균효과나 세포를 죽이는 효과를 치료에 이용하는 방법으로, 좁은 의미로 암의 방사선치료를 의미한다. 암에 대한 방사선치료는 암세포를 죽이는데 효과가 큰 베타선을 주로 사용한다. 하지만, 이런 방사선치료는 정상세포에도 큰 영향을 끼쳐 이에 따른 기능의 장애를 가져올 수 있다. 따라서 방사선치료에 있어서는 단지 그 암세포에 대한 작용뿐만 아니라, 정상세포에 대한 작용도 고려하여 시행한다. |
