| pubovaginal sling |
One of the surgical methods for treating urinary incontinence that involves placing a "sling" under the bladder and urethra that is anchored to pubic or abdominal structures. The sling is often made of tissue taken from another place in the body. This technique improves sphincter function and decreases bladder neck movement.
