| 설명 | 동물계의 한 아계. 단세포로 된 가장 하등한 원시적인 동물로 세포 분열이나 발아에 의하여 번식한다. 현미경적 크기로부터 육안적 크기에 이르기까지 단세포생물로 구성된다. 대부분은 자유생활을 하나, 일부는 공생적, 상호의존적 또는 기생적으로 존재한다. 원생동물문은 보통 다음의 4아문으로 분류된다. 생활환의 대부분의 시기를 통하여 가족을 가진 육질충류인 Sarcodina(아메바), 생활환의 대부분의 시기를 통하여 한 개 또는 그 이상의 편모를 가진 편모충류인 Mastigophora, 발육의 어느 시기에 섬모를 가지는 유모류인 Ciliophora 및 성충기에는 운동기관을 갖지 않고 포자형성에 의하여 생식을 하는 포자충류인 Sporozoa가 있다. 세계적으로 약 3만~5만 종이 알려졌는데, 한국에서는 원생동물에 관한 연구가 매우 미흡하다. |
