| proliferative choroiditis | The dense scar tissue produced by severe choroiditis. (05 Mar 2000) |

| anterior choroiditis | Disseminated choroiditis restricted to peripheral choroid. (05 Mar 2000) |
|---|---|
| areolar choroiditis | Inflammation of the choroid, with prominent pigment proliferation occurring first in the macular region and then more peripherally. (05 Mar 2000) |
| metastatic choroiditis | Inflammation of the choroid arising from microbial emboli. (05 Mar 2000) |
| choroiditis | <pathology> Inflammation of the choroid, a membrane or coat of the eyeball. (27 Sep 1997) |
| multifocal choroiditis | Macular, peripapillary, and peripheral choroiditis, often designated presumed ocular histoplasmosis. (05 Mar 2000) |

| vitreoretinopathy, proliferative | Vitreoretinal membrane shrinkage or contraction secondary to the proliferation of primarily retinal pigment epithelial cells and glial cells, particularly fibrous astrocytes, followed by membrane formation. The formation of fibrillar collagen and cellular proliferation appear to be the basis for the contractile properties of the epiretinal and vitreous membranes. (12 Dec 1998) |
| mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis | <nephrology, pathology> Inflammation of the kidney glomerulus (blood filtering portion of the kidney) due to the abnormal deposition of IgM antibody in the mesangium layer of the glomerular capillary. A form of glomerulonephritis that appears to be caused by an abnormal immune response. This disorder generally manifests as nephrotic syndrome. Symptoms include swelling, dark urine, weight gain, hypertension, anorexia and bloody urine. Acronym: MPGN (05 Jan 1998) |
| proliferative | Proliferous Increasing the numbers of similar forms. (05 Mar 2000) |
| proliferative arthritis | Rarely used term for rheumatoid arthritis, based on the characteristic proliferation of the synovial membrane seen in joints affected by the disease. (05 Mar 2000) |
