| 설명 | 항생 물질이나 화학요법제가 효력을 미치는 병원미생물의 범위와 그 작용 강도를 계열화한 스펙트럼이다. 예를 들면 페니실린 G는 그람양성알균-그람음성알균, 결핵균에는 효과가 없다. 스트렙토마이신은 그람양성-그람음성균-결핵균에도 유효하다. 항균스펙트럼이 넓은 것이 각종 병에 유효하게 작용하며, 광역항생물질이라고 한다. |

| Nicol prism | <physics> A prism, used for polarizing or analysing light, made by cementing together, with Canada balsam, two pieces of calcite in such a way that the extraordinary ray from the first piece passes through the second piece while the ordinary ray is reflected to the side into an absorbing layer of black paint. When two Nicol prisms are crossed, therefore, no light passes through. A polarizing prism made of two pieces of calcite specially cut, ground, polished and cemented. A transmitted beam splits into two polarized components, one of which is refracted into and absorbed by the asphalt mount. The remaining polarized beam is transmitted.
