| 설명 | 투석이란, 혈액내에 존재하는 노폐물을 콩팥외의 다른 방법으로 제거하는 것을 말한다. 정상적으로 신장은 몸속에 싸인 노폐물을 소변으로 배설하는 역할을 하지만, 만성콩팥기능상실 때 노폐물은 몸 밖으로 나갈 수 없게 되고 체내에 쌓여서 이상을 가져온다. 복막투석에는 간간히 혈액투석과 같이 시행하는 간헐적복막투석이 있고, 항상 환자가 착용하는 Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis(CAPD)가 있다.(그림 P-8) |

| 설명 | 의학, 약학, 생물학 따위의 실험용으로 육종하여 길들인 생쥐. 색깔과 모양이 다른 수 많은 돌연변이체가 있다. 쥐목 쥐과의 포유류. 몸길이 6~10cm, 귀길이 1.1~1.4cm, 뒷발길이 1.3~1.8cm이고, 꼬리길이는 몸길이와 거의 같다. 귓바퀴는 둥글고 접어도 눈에 닿지 않으며, 몸의 털은 부드럽고 비교적 길다. 꼬리에도 털이 많고, 앞니의 앞 끝에 패인 곳이 있다. 야생종의 몸빛깔은 윗면이 회색을 띤 갈색이고, 몸 아랫면과 앞발-뒷발은 순백색이다. 집안이나 집 근처에 사는 것은 몸빛깔이 회흑색-갈색-검은색 등 여러 가지이지만 몸 아랫면은 희지 않다. |

| peritoneal dialysis | <nephrology, procedure> In this type of dialysis, a special solution is run through a tube into the peritoneum, a thin tissue that lines the cavity of the abdomen. The bodys waste products are removed through the tube. There are three types of peritoneal dialysis. Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), the most common type, needs no machine and can be done at home. Continuous cyclic peritoneal dialysis (CCPD) uses a machine and is usually performed at night when the person is sleeping. Intermittent peritoneal dialysis (IPD) uses the same type of machine as CCPD, but is usually done in the hospital because treatment takes longer.
