| 설명 | 니코틴산이 모자라서 일어나는 병. 열대나 아열대 지방에 많으며, 피부에 붉은 반점이 생기고 시력장애, 경련, 설사, 정신장애 따위를 일으키기도 한다. 옥수수을 주식으로 하는 인종에 많으며 이는 옥수수의 류신이 니아신 합성을 방해하기 때문이다. 그리고 만성 알코올중독증, 만성콩팥병, 만성설사 및 단백이 결핍된 식사 후에는 이차성 결핍이 온다. 펠라그라는 ‘거친 피부’라는 뜻이다. |
