| 설명 | 화농균(고름)을 유발할 수 있는 병균. 대개 강력한 염증반응과 조직에 대한 파괴력을 가지고 있다)의 감염에 의해서 골과 골수의 염증에 생긴 병적상태를 말한다. 병균은 주로 피부상처에 의해 감염되며 때로는 호흡기감염으로도 발생할 수 있다. 특히 소아는 면역력이 약하여 팔이나 다리에 걸릴 가능성이 높다. 뼈에 대한 염증반응으로 고름집을 형성하며, 죽은뼈조직을 형성하게 된다. 치료는 항생제의 주입이며, 치료에 반응하지 않거나 만성으로 진행한 경우 수술로써 죽은 뼈조직을 제거하고 농을 밖으로 배출해야 한다. |

The two may be distinguished by electron microscopy or demonstration of inclusion bodies in smears, which are intranuclear in eczema herpeticum and intracytoplasmic in eczema vaccinatum.
