| 설명 | 폐의 염증으로 폐포 내에 공기 대신 염증 세포나 삼출액으로 가득 차 호흡곤란을 야기하며, 발열 등의 전신 증상을 동반한다. 위치, 원인균 등에 따라 구분한다. 예를 들어, 대엽성 폐렴(lobar pneumonia)란 폐렴 구균에 의한 급성 페렴으로 한 개 또는 여러 개의 폐엽을 따라 생기는 광범위한 삼출성 경화가 특징인 병을 지칭한다. 이것은 폐렴의 발생부위에 따라 부르는 말이다. 그리고 바이러스폐렴(viral pneumonia)란 바이러스에 의해 발생하는 모든 폐렴을 말하는데, 이것은 원인균에 따라 지칭한 말이다. |

| 설명 | 음식물의 찌꺼기같은 이물이 기도에 들어가 이차적으로 생기는 폐렴. 음식물이나 입안의 미생물이 식도로 넘어가지 않고 기도로 잘못 흡인되어 야기되는 폐렴을 말한다. 흡인 물질의 특성에 따라서 세 가지 증후군을 포함한다. ① 화학적 폐렴은 직접적으로 폐에 유해한 물질을 흡인했을 때 일어나며, 급성 호흡곤란, 빠른 호흡, 빠른맥이 나타나고 동반되는 증상은 주로 청색증, 기관지 경련, 열 등이다. ② 하기도의 세균성 감염이 흡인성 폐렴의 가장 흔한 형태로, 기침, 발열, 고름가래 증상을 나타낸다. ③ 하기도의 기계적 폐쇄는 특별한 물질, 특히 땅콩, 작은 고기덩어리에 의해 흡인되었을 때 일어나며, 흡인 물질과 기도의 직경에 따라 증상은 다르다. 기관에서 막히면 종종 호흡곤란과 함께 사망에 이르기도 하며, 하기도 아래 부분에서 흡인이 일어나면 만성 기침이 발생한다. |

| atypical pneumonia | <chest medicine> This refers to a type of pneumonia that does not follow the typical signs and symptoms of pneumonia. A number of different viral and bacterial agents have been identified which can cause this form of respiratory infection. Examples include Chlamydia pneumonia, psittacosis, Mycoplasma, influenza A or B, adenovirus and Legionella. Antibiotics will be necessary in all but the mildest cases. | bronchial pneumonia | <chest medicine> A name given to an inflammation of the lungs which usually begins in the terminal bronchioles. The disease is frequently secondary in character, following infections of the upper respiratory tract, specific infectious fevers and debilitating diseases. | bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia | A disease formerly considered a form of interstitial pneumonia. Its aetiology is obscure but it may be associated with toxic fumes, infection, and connective tissue disease. Clinical symptoms include cough, dyspnea and influenza-like symptoms with the development of the usual interstitial pneumonia in many cases. Obstructive symptoms are limited to smokers. There are patchy polypoid masses of intra-alveolar granulation tissue in small airway lumina and alveolar ducts. "organizing" refers to unresolved pneumonia (in which the alveolar exudate persists and eventually undergoes fibrosis) in which fibrous tissue forms in the alveoli. (12 Dec 1998) |
