| vena ventriculi lateralis lateralis | A vein draining deep portions of the temporal and parietal lobes; it runs in the lateral wall of the lateral ventricle to terminate in the superior thalamostriate vein. Synonym: vena ventriculi lateralis lateralis, lateral atrial vein, lateral vein of lateral ventricle. (05 Mar 2000) |

| radix lateralis nervi mediani | <anatomy, nerve> The part of the median nerve arising from the lateral cord of the brachial plexus. Synonym: radix lateralis nervi mediani. (05 Mar 2000) |
| ramus cutaneus lateralis nervi iliohypogastrici | Lateral cutaneous branch of iliohypogastric nerve. See: lateral cutaneous branch. (05 Mar 2000) |
| ramus lateralis nervi supraorbitalis | Lateral branch of supraorbital nerve. See: lateral branches. (05 Mar 2000) |
| ramus profundus nervi plantaris lateralis | <anatomy, nerve> Motor branch of lateral plantar nerve supplying lumbricals 2-4, plantar and dorsal interossei, and the adductor hallucis muscles. Synonym: ramus profundus nervi plantaris lateralis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| ramus superficialis nervi plantaris lateralis | <anatomy, nerve> Mostly cutaneous branch to skin of small and lateral half of fourth toes and lateral side of sole of foot, but also supplies the flexor digiti minimi brevis muscle and the most lateral dorsal and plantar interosseous muscles. Synonym: ramus superficialis nervi plantaris lateralis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| bronchiolus terminalis | The end of the nonrespiratory conducting airway; the lining is simple columnar or cuboidal epithelium without mucous goblet cells; most of the cells are ciliated, but a few nonciliated serous secreting cells occur. Synonym: bronchiolus terminalis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| vena terminalis | <anatomy, vein> A long vein passing forward in the groove between the thalamus and caudate nucleus, covered by the lamina affixa, receiving the transverse caudate veins along its lateral side, and joining at the caudal wall of Monro's foramen with the choroidal vein and vein of septum pellucidum to form the internal cerebral vein. Synonym: vena terminalis, vena thalamostriata superior, terminal vein, vein of corpus striatum. (05 Mar 2000) |
| ventriculus terminalis | A dilation of the central canal of the spinal cord at the tip of the medullary cone. Synonym: ventriculus terminalis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| pars terminalis | See: middle cerebral artery, posterior cerebral artery. Synonym: terminal part. (05 Mar 2000) |
| crista terminalis | A vertical crest on the interior wall of the right atrium that lies to the right of the sinus of the vena cava and separates this from the remainder of the right atrium. Synonym: tenia terminalis, terminal crest. (05 Mar 2000) |
| stria terminalis | A slender, compact fibre bundle that connects the amygdala (amygdaloid body) with the hypothalamus and other basal forebrain regions. Originating from the amygdala, the bundle passes first caudalward in the roof of the temporal horn of the lateral ventricle; it follows the medial side of the caudate nucleus forward in the floor of the ventricle's central part (or body) until it reaches the interventricular foramen, in the posterior wall of which it curves steeply down to enter the hypothalamus, with fibres passing both rostral and caudal to the anterior commissure. Coursing caudalward in the medial part of the hypothalamus, the bundle terminates in the anterior and ventromedial hypothalamic nuclei. Synonym: stria terminalis, Foville's fasciculus, Tarin's tenia, tenia saemicircularis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| sulcus terminalis | Sulcus terminalis linguae; a V-shaped groove, with apex pointing backward, on the surface of the tongue, marking the separation between the oral, or horizontal, and the pharyngeal, or vertical, parts, sulcus terminalis atrii dextri; a groove on the surface of the right atrium of the heart, marking the junction of the primitive sinus venosus with the atrium. Synonym: terminal sulcus. (05 Mar 2000) |
| incisura terminalis auris | A deep notch separating the lamina tragi and cartilage of the external auditory meatus from the main auricular cartilage, the two being connected below by the isthmus. Synonym: incisura terminalis auris, auricular notch. (05 Mar 2000) |
| tenia terminalis | A vertical crest on the interior wall of the right atrium that lies to the right of the sinus of the vena cava and separates this from the remainder of the right atrium. Synonym: tenia terminalis, terminal crest. (05 Mar 2000) |
