| 설명 | 심장에 피를 공급하는 혈관이 막혀서, 그 동맥에 의해 영양분을 공급받는 부위가 괴사(죽는다는 뜻)에 빠지는 것을 말함. 주로 동맥경화증(동맥에 지방성분, 주로 콜레스테롤 등이 쌓여 동맥이 굳어서 딱딱해지는 병적상태) 등으로 혈관이 좁아져 있는 상태에서 혈전(적혈구, 혈소판 등 피의 성분이 뭉쳐서 발생) 이 발생하거나, 지나친 동맥경화증자체 등에 의해 발생한다. 현재 미국 등, 선진국에서의 가장 큰 사망요인이 되고 있다. 또한 이 주위에는 대개 심근허혈부위가 존재하는데 이 부위는 현재 피가 모자라서 막 괴사에 빠지기 직전의 세포가 있는 부위이다. 따라서 이 허혈상태에서 빠른 치료를 시행하여 피가 공급되면, 이 부위는 정상적인 상태로 되겠지만, 만약 계속 이 상태로 있게 되면, 언젠가는 역시 경색증에 빠져 심장운동에 막대한 지장을 초래하게 될 것이다. |

A small piece of heart tissue is taken via a small forceps inserted into the cardiac catheter site (usually threaded through a vein in the neck).
