| 설명 | 귀는 바깥의 바깥귀, 그리고 음을 전달하는 가운데귀, 전달된 음을 신경이 알아들을 수 있도록 바꿔주는 기능의 속귀, 이 3가지로 구분되어 진다. 가운데귀는 고막에서부터 속귀까지 연결되는 곳까지인데 여기에 3가지의 조그마한 뼈가 있어 고막에 울린 음이 속귀까지 전해지도록 해준다. 이때 이 뼈들과 고막의 작용으로 귀에 들린 음은 약 21배정도의 확대효과가 나타난다. 속귀는 이렇게 해서 전해진 음을 코르티 기관에 의해서 신경이 알아 들을 수 있는 신호 전달체계로 바꾸어 뇌에 전해주는 역할을 한다. |

| 설명 | 손목에는 아홉 개의 힘줄과 한 개의 신경이 통과하는 굴이 있는데 이곳을 손목굴이라 하고, 이곳을 지나는 신경이 눌리면 새깨손가락을 제외한 네 손가락이 아프고 저린 증상이다. 이것을 손목굴증후군이라 한다. 검사 방법으로는 근육 검사와 신경전달검사가 있다. 심할 때는 아침이나 저녁에 아파서 잠을 깨고 손목뿐만 아니라 어깨까지 아프다. 손목을 굽히고 있으면 통증이 심하다. 손목을 반복적으로 사용하는 운전자, 가정주부, 악기 연주자, 공장라인의 근로자, 컴퓨터 사용자, 목수가 해당된다. 손바닥뼈가 깨지거나 넘어지면서 손바닥으로 짚었을 때도 발생하며 드물게 진동하는 공구를 사용해도 나타나기도 한다. 임산부, 통풍, 류마티스 관절염, 갑상샘 기능 저하증, 당뇨병 등이 있을 때 이런 증상이 올 수 있다. 여자에게 더 많고 주로 자주 쓰는 손목이 해당된다. 심할 때는 손목에 땅콩만한 크기로 부어오른다. 누르면 안으로 쑥 들어가기도 하고 다시 움직이면 튀어나온다. 손목뼈 여덟 개 중에 반달뼈라 불리는 작은뼈의 인대가 이완되어 생긴다. 통증을 감소하는 치료로 부목, 얼음찜질, 이뇨제, 항생제를 사용하기도 하며 통증이 계속되면 코르티코스테로이드 호르몬을 손목부에 주사하여 통증을 줄인다. 부작용으로는 재발률이 높다. |

| 설명 | 두 개의 뼈 또는 그 이상의 뼈가 서로 이어져 있는 곳. 관절에서는 흔히 뼈 사이에 움직일 수 있는 관절운동이 있게 되지만 전혀 움직임이 없는 관절도 있다. 관절의 종류는 마주 대하는 두 뼈 사이에 어떠한 조직이 들어 있느냐에 따라서 나뉘어지며 여기에는 섬유관절, 연골관절 및 윤활관절이 있다. 뼈의 관절면은 관절연골에 덮이고, 주위는 관절주머니라 불리는 뼈막에 이어지는 결합조직성의 막에 의해 둘러싸인다. 관절주머니의 가장 안쪽층에는 윤활막이 있고 관절강에 활액을 분비한다. 관절강에는 관절원판이라는 섬유연골성의 격벽 또는 관절반월이라는 관절포에서 울타리모양으로 돌출되는 부분이 있다. 관절낭의 외부에는 많은 섬유성 인대가 부착되어 있어 관절을 보강한다. 관절운동의 성질, 운동의 가능 범위는 관절을 이루는 골단의 형태나 관절낭-인대의 부착방법에 따라 각각 다르다. |
