| 설명 | 정신과에서 쓸 때는 정신병의 일종으로 취급. 일반인들의 mania란 말은 하고자 하는 일에 열정을 다하는, 마치 미친듯이 일하는 광적인 일의 욕구를 가진 사람을 말하지만, 정신과의 조증은 이와는 조금 다르다. 조병은 3가지의 큰 특징을 가지고 있는데 그것은 지나친 자신감, 지나친 과활동, 너무나 고양된 기분이 그것이다. 따라서 그들은 언뜻 보기엔 자신감에 차서 세상을 살아가는 것처럼 보이나, 실제적으로는 그 일을 벌이기만 할 뿐, 그 일을 감당할 능력은 없어 대개 사업을 하면, 파산하거나, 남의 재산을 탕진하기도 하면서 자신은 여전히 자신감속에서 살아 다른 가족들에 의해서 끌려 병원에 오게 되는 경우가 많다. 대부분의 경우 이런 증상은 3개월 간 지속되고 그 이후 아주 우울한 기분의 우울증이 찾아오게 된다. |
