| 설명 | 척추를 이루는 뼈로 볼기뼈(hip bone)과 같이 골반의 골격을 이룬다. 즉 골반의 뒷쪽 벽에 해당한다. 척추는 목뼈(7개로 구성), 등뼈(12개로 구성), 허리뼈(5개로 구성), 엉치뼈(5개)로 구성되어 있는 데 각 부위는 또한 여러 개의 척추뼈로 구성되어있다. |

| 설명 | 이 자세는 여러 가지 경우에 사용되어 지는데, 예를 들어 한쪽 폐에 물이 찬 경우에 그냥 보통 서서 찍는 X-선 사진 기술로는 잘 나오지 않는 경우가 많다. 이럴 때, 옆으로 누운 자세로 한쪽으로 물이 고이도록 한 상태에서 촬영을 할 경우엔 이 병적인 상태를 명확히 볼 수 있다. 때로는 만삭이 된 임산부가 바로 누워 있을 경우 태아에 의해 혈관이 눌려 실신하는 경우가 있는 데 이럴 경우에도 이 “옆으로 눕는 자세”를 하면 금방 회복될 수 있다. |

| 설명 | 머리와 얼굴의 혈액을 모아 심장으로 보내는 목에 있는 정맥. 목정맥에는 속목정맥과 바깥목정맥이 있다. 머리뼈 한 가운데 있는 윗시상굴-아래시상굴 및 구불정맥굴 및 구불정맥굴을 거쳐서 속목정맥에 이르며, 얼굴의 정맥혈도 얼굴정맥에 모였다가 목 부위에서는 속목정맥에 합류된다. 한편, 얕은머리정맥은 바깥목정맥에 이르게 되고, 속목정맥과 바깥목정맥은 합류하여 상대정맥이 되어 심장으로 되돌아간다. 목에는 이 밖에도 척추뼈정맥과 깊은목정맥이 있으며, 이들도 역시 완두정맥과 합류하여 상대정맥을 거쳐 심장으로 되돌아간다. |
