| 설명 | 이 자세는 여러 가지 경우에 사용되어 지는데, 예를 들어 한쪽 폐에 물이 찬 경우에 그냥 보통 서서 찍는 X-선 사진 기술로는 잘 나오지 않는 경우가 많다. 이럴 때, 옆으로 누운 자세로 한쪽으로 물이 고이도록 한 상태에서 촬영을 할 경우엔 이 병적인 상태를 명확히 볼 수 있다. 때로는 만삭이 된 임산부가 바로 누워 있을 경우 태아에 의해 혈관이 눌려 실신하는 경우가 있는 데 이럴 경우에도 이 “옆으로 눕는 자세”를 하면 금방 회복될 수 있다. |

| 설명 | 뇌의 동맥에 생긴 동맥자루. 임상적으로 중요시되는 이유는 이것이 잘 터져 뇌출혈의 중요한 원인이 되기 때문이다. 대부분의 동맥자루가 출혈을 일으키지만 출혈을 일으키지 않는 경우에는 주위의 뇌 조직의 압박에 의해서 두통이나 발작 등을 일으킬 수 있다. |

| 설명 | 동맥의 벽이 늘어나서 생긴 주머니 모양의 병터. 대개 동맥류는 맥박이 뛰는 덩어리 형태로 많이 발견된다. 즉 동맥이 늘어나서 생긴 덩어리여서 맥박이 뛴다. 그리고 늘어난 곳에 피가 흐를때 나는 특이한 “쉭쉭”하는 소리를 그 덩어리에서 들을 수가 있다. 동맥류가 임상에서 중요하게 다루어지는 이유는 동맥류가 커져서 주위의 조직을 압박할 수 있다는 사실과 동맥류가 터져서 많은 출혈을 동반할 수 있다는 사실에 있다(후자의 중요성이 더욱 크다). |
