| 설명 | 주로 비타민 D가 부족하여 생기는 구루병에서 볼 수 있다. 비타민 D는 장관에서 칼슘의 흡수를 촉진하고 콩팥에서 소변으로 배설되는 칼슘의 양을 감소시켜 혈액내에 칼슘의 양을 증가시키는 역할을 한다. 따라서 이 비타민이 부족할 경우 뼈에 침착될 칼슘의 양이 감소하게 되므로 뼈는 연해지고 잘 부러지기 쉬운 상태가 된다. 치료는 이런 비타민의 복용이나, 혹은 체내에 칼슘을 주입하여 체내칼슘의 양을 증가시키는 것이다. |

| infantile osteomalacia | <rheumatology, orthopaedics> A condition caused by deficiency of vitamin D, especially in infancy and childhood, with disturbance of normal ossification. The disease is marked by bending and distortion of the bones under muscular action, by the formation of nodular enlargements on the ends and sides of the bones, by delayed closure of the fontanelles, pain in the muscles and sweating of the head. Three groups, based on age of clinical onset, are recognised. Synonym: familial spinal muscular atrophy, Hoffmann's muscular atrophy, infantile muscular atrophy, infantile progressive spinal muscular atrophy, progressive infantile spinal muscular atrophy, Werdnig-Hoffmann disease, Werdnig-Hoffmann muscular atrophy. | spasms, infantile | Primary generalised epileptic seizures occurring in infants between birth and twelve months of age consisting of brief synchronous contractions of the neck, torso, and both arms. These seizures often occur in infants with underlying neurologic diseases. The prognosis for these infants is grave, with approximately ninety percent developing mental retardation in addition to their seizures. The eeg has a typical hypsarrhythmia pattern. The spasms and hypsarrhythmia have a tendency to disappear over the first three to five years of life, only to be replaced by other forms of generalised seizures.
