| 설명 | 몸의 어느 한쪽이 마비된 상태. 얼굴의 반쪽과 같은 쪽 팔-다리 모두에 운동마비가 일어난 상태를 말한다. 반신마비 또는 편마비라고도 한다. 수의운동을 지배하는 피라밋로가 대뇌의 겉질-겉질하, 속섬유막, 뇌줄기의 어느 부위에서건 장애를 받아도 일어난다. 마비는 숨뇌와 척수의 경계부에서 척수로가 대부분 교차되므로 장애 쪽과는 반대쪽에서 일어난다. 급성으로 발생한 뇌 속의 순환장애, 특히 속섬유막 부근의 출혈-괴사 등에 의해 일어나는 경우가 많다. 원인으로서는 뇌출혈을 비롯하여 뇌연화-뇌종양-동맥염-당뇨병-요독증 등을 들 수 있다. |

| progressive infantile spinal muscular atrophy | Transmitted as autosomal recessive on chromosome 5q. Progressive dysfunction of the anterior horn cells in the spinal cord and brainstem cranial nerves with profound weakness and bulbar dysfunction occurring in the first two years of life. Three groups, based on age of clinical onset, are recognised. Synonym: familial spinal muscular atrophy, Hoffmann's muscular atrophy, infantile muscular atrophy, infantile progressive spinal muscular atrophy, progressive infantile spinal muscular atrophy, Werdnig-Hoffmann disease, Werdnig-Hoffmann muscular atrophy. | spasms, infantile | Primary generalised epileptic seizures occurring in infants between birth and twelve months of age consisting of brief synchronous contractions of the neck, torso, and both arms. These seizures often occur in infants with underlying neurologic diseases. The prognosis for these infants is grave, with approximately ninety percent developing mental retardation in addition to their seizures. The eeg has a typical hypsarrhythmia pattern. The spasms and hypsarrhythmia have a tendency to disappear over the first three to five years of life, only to be replaced by other forms of generalised seizures.
