| 설명 | 정상의 정신상태가 아닌 것을 가리키는 말. 인간이 이성을 잃은, 즉 정신변조상태의 정황 아래 놓여 있는 것을 말한다. 근대에는 광기가 인간의 정신병리로서 격리 또는 치료의 대상으로 생각되고 있지만, 고대 그리스 이래로 광기는 창조성과의 관계를 중요시하여 왔다. 플라톤은 “신에 의해서 주어진 것 중에서 광기는 좋은 것 중에서도 가장 좋은 것”이라고 말하였다. 현대에는 문화에 공헌하는 광기의 양상이 천재라는 말과 관련되어 불리어 왔고, 그 반대 양상인 광기와는 구별되었다. 천재와 정신병과의 관계는 근대에 C. 롬브로소를 비롯하여 J. 랑게 등에 의하여 학문적-체계적으로 고찰되었고, 또 광기와 상상력의 관계는 W. 딜타이, T. 리보를 거쳐서 K. 야스퍼스, J. 샤르트르 등에 의하여 고찰되었다. |
