| phosphoenolpyruvate sugar phosphotransferase system | <enzyme> The bacterial sugar phosphotransferase system (pts) that catalyses the transfer of the phosphoryl group from phosphoenolpyruvate to its sugar substrates (the pts sugars) concomitant with the translocation of these sugars across the bacterial membrane.
