a disease of young pigs, caused by infection by Haemophilus parasuis; symptoms include swelling of the hocks or knee joints or both, accompanied by fever and lameness; severe cases may progress to neurological problems with disinclination to move, convulsions, and death. Called also infectious porcine polyarthritis and porcine polyserositis.
