| 설명 | 쓸개관이나 쓸개주머니에 생기는, 돌처럼 단단한 물질. 인간뿐만 아니라 소나 양에게서도 볼 수 있다. 크게 콜레스테롤돌과 빌리루빈돌이 있으며, 이들이 섞인 것이 있다. 비만인 사람에서 마른 사람보다 여섯 배나 많이 발생한다. 그 메커니즘은 체내의 콜레스테롤이 증가함으로써 담즙 내에 콜레스테로 배설을 증가시켜서 쓸개돌 형성이 잘 되기 때문이다. |

| 설명 | 창자, 특히 작은창자가 막히는 것. 창자 막힘에는 기계적인 원인으로 창자가 막혀서 폐쇄된 기계적 막힘증(mechanical ileus)과 창자의 운동이 중지하여 기능적으로 폐쇄된 마비성 막힘증(paralytic ileus) 두 가지가 있다. 창자가 폐쇄되면 수분 및 공기가 축적되어 창자가 확장되고 구토가 일어날 수 있다. 창자 확장으로 인하여 복부내압이 증가되어 호흡에 장애가 오고, 많은 수분이 마비된 창자로 빠져나가서 탈수증이 생긴다. 탈수증이 심한 경우에는 혈액의 양이 모자라서 저혈압이 생길 수도 있다. |
