| 설명 | 표정근을 지배하는 큰 운동신경과 작은 중간신경으로 구성된다. 좁은 의미의 얼굴신경과 중간신경으로 이루어지는 혼합신경이다. 속귀신경과 함께 속귓길로 들어가고 그 바닥에서 속귀신경과 갈라져 얼굴신경관으로 들어가, 거의 직각으로 구부러지는 부분을 얼굴신경무릎이라 하며, 여기에 무릎신경마디가 있다. |

| 설명 | 중추성과 말초성으로 나뉘어 진다. 말초성 얼굴신경마비는 외상, 바이러스감염(람세이헌트증후군), 귀병 등에서 생기는데, 원인불명의 것이 많고, 이것을 벨마비라고 한다. 한냉노출이 요인이 되는 수가 있다. 발병은 급격하고 마비는 보통 일측성이다. 마비측의 얼굴에 주름이 생기기 않고, 눈틈새는 넓으며, 눈을 충분히 감지 못하고, 눈을 감으려고 시도하면 안구는 위쪽으로 회전한다. 환측에서는 코입술고랑이 얕고, 입구석은 쳐져서 정상쪽으로 끌리고 음식물이 고인다. 휘파람도 볼 수 없다. 얼굴신경의 장애부위에 따라서 혀의 앞 2/3의 미각장애, 청각과민, 침의 분비장애가 뒤따른다. 통상 2~3개월 이내에 낫는데 남는 수도 있다. 중추성 얼굴신경마비는 뇌혈관장애, 뇌종양 등의 뇌실질장애에서 볼 수 있으며, 얼굴하반부만의 마비이고, 마비측의 이마에 주름이 생기게 할 수가 있다. |

| 설명 | 제7뇌신경인 얼굴신경의 지배근육에 국한된 한쪽성의 불수의 수축이며, 눈꺼풀로부터 점차 눈확 하부, 볼부분 입 모서리부분으로 퍼진다. 경련은 간대성으로 발작성 발현을 하며 피로나 정신적 긴장에 따라 증강된다. 50대 이후에 여성에게 많다. 중증인 경우에는 눈을 뜨기가 곤란하다. 원인은 명백하지 않은 것이 많지만 말초성 얼굴신경 손상의 치유 후, 또는 얼굴신경 기시부의 혈관(앞소뇌동맥, 뒤밑소뇌동맥, 척추동맥 등)에 의한 압박 등이 있다. |

| 설명 | 감각세포가 받은 자극을 중추신경에 전달하는 신경. 눈이나 피부 등에 있는 감각기가 외부로부터 자극을 받으면 감각신경을 거쳐 척수와 대뇌겉질까지 감각이 전달된다. 이와 같이 외부로부터 내부를 향해 전달되는 감각신경은 구심성 신경계통이며, 원심성 운동신경계통 및 자율신경계통에 필적하는 말초신경의 하나이다. 이 감각신경에는 후각신경(뇌신경Ⅰ)-시각신경(뇌신경Ⅱ)-눈돌림신경(뇌신경Ⅲ)-삼차신경(뇌신경Ⅴ)-얼굴신경(뇌신경Ⅶ)-청각신경(뇌신경Ⅷ)-혀인두신경(뇌신경Ⅸ)-미주신경(뇌신경Ⅹ) 및 척수신경이 있다. 감각신경 중 미주신경을 제외하면 모두 두부에 분포되어 있고, 후각신경-시각신경-청각신경의 세가지는 특히 분화된 감각상피를 지배한다. 혀인두신경은 미각의 말단장치와 그 밖의 부분에 연결되고 미주신경은 흉강과 복강의 기관에 분포되어 구심성 충격을 중추에 전달하며 삼차신경은 척수의 각 마디에 있는 신경에 해당하여(머리의 피부-점막 등의 표면감각과 심부감각을 관장한다. 척수의 감각신경계통에도 피부와 심부, 내장의 분포에 따른 구별이 있다. |

Diagnosis can be made with auditory evoked potentials and/or MRI scanning of the brain. Vertigo and tinnitus may be associated symptoms. | schwannoma | <tumour> A benign, encapsulated neoplasm in which the fundamental component is structurally identical to a syncytium of Schwann cells; the neoplastic cells proliferate within the endoneurium, and the perineurium forms the capsule. The neoplasm may originate from a peripheral or sympathetic nerve, or from various cranial nerves, particularly the eighth nerve; when the nerve is small, it is usually found (if at all) in the capsule of the neoplasm; if the nerve is large, the neurilemoma may develop within the sheath of the nerve, the fibres of which may then spread over the surface of the capsule as the neoplasm enlarges. Microscopically, neurilemoma's are composed of combinations of two cell types, Antoni types A and B (see below), either of which may be predominant in various examples of neurilemoma's.
