| 설명 | 사람이 살아있는 상태에서 병터를 잘라내어 직접 현미경 등으로 보아 진단을 내리는 진단법이다. 간생검은 주로 간염이나 간암의 진단이나, 희귀한 유전병, 선천병 등의 확진에 이용된다. 간염에서는 현재의 간염이 진행성인지 혹은 비진행성인지 또는 이미 간경화상태로 넘어갔는지 등의 여부를 알아보게 된다. |

| 설명 | 생체내에서 근육에 대한 질병의 감별진단을 위해서 실시하는 검사법. 방법은 병터가 있는 부위나 혹은 없어도 크게 활동에 지장이 없는 근육부위의 조직을 떼어 현미경적으로 검사한다. 예를 들어 신경조직의 이상으로 인한 근육병터의 경우, 근육생검을 하여 관찰해보면 이른바 “무리진 위축(grouped atrophy)”이 나타나서, 다른 병터에 의한 것과 감별이 가능하다. |

Risks include bleeding after the procedure. This test is usually performed in the evaluation of abnormal menses, heavy menstruation or post-menopausal bleeding. It may be part of an infertility evaluation. Endometrial biopsy can reveal uterine cancer, uterine fibroids, uterine polyps and adenomyosis.
