영문 endometritis 한글 자궁내막염
설명   
  자궁내막에 국한한 모든 종류의 염증. 분만, 유산, 인공임신중절, 성교에 의한 임균의 감염, 결핵균, 자궁내 피임장치 등이 원인이 되며, 분비물, 하복통, 월경불순 따위의 증상이 나타난다. 급성일 때는 진행하여 복막염 등을 일으키는 수도 있으나, 대개는 만성으로서 임균에 의한 것이 가장 많으며, 노인성은 보통 대장균의 감염에 의한다. 그러나 보통 자궁내막염이라고 불리고 있는 것은 자궁목관점막의 염증으로서, 자궁체부점막은 재생력이 강할 뿐더러, 비록 염증이 있다고 해도 달마다 월경에 의하여 박탈되므로 좀처럼 염증을 볼 수가 없다. 조기에 철저하게 치료(주로 화확요법)한다.
