| acrokeratosis verruciformis | <dermatology> Warty hyperkeratotic lesions that are found on the dorsal aspect of the hands and feet and on the knees and elbows. There appears to be phenotypic overlap between this and Darier-White disease and they may not be separate entities. Clinical features include: acrokeratosis, warty hyperkeratosis on the dorsal hands, feet, knees and elbows. See: benign familial pemphigus. Inheritance: autosomal dominant. (05 Aug 1998) |
|---|---|
| epidermodysplasia verruciformis | An autosomal recessive trait with impaired cell-mediated immunity. About 15 human papilloma viruses are implicated in associated infection, four of which lead to skin neoplasms. The disease begins in childhood with red papules and later spreads over the body as gray or yellow scales. (12 Dec 1998) |
| Miescher's elastoma | Circinate groups of hyperkeratotic papules that become dislodged, leaving a small bloody depression; associated with pseudoxanthoma elasticum. (05 Mar 2000) |
| elastoma | A tumour-like deposit of elastic tissue. (05 Mar 2000) |
| juvenile elastoma | <dermatology> A connective tissue nevus characterised by an increase in the number and size of the elastic fibres. See: osteodermatopoikilosis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| ramus perforans | Arterial branches which penetrate a wall or pass from the anterior to the posterior aspect or compartment of a structure such as the hand or foot to anastomose or be distributed. Synonym: ramus perforans, perforating peroneal artery. (05 Mar 2000) |
| ramus perforans arteriae fibularis | <anatomy, artery> The branch of the peroneal artery that perforates the interosseous membrane just above the anterior tibiofibular ligament. Synonym: ramus perforans arteriae fibularis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| malum perforans pedis | <dermatology, neurology> Perforating ulcer of the foot occurring in certain neuropathies. (05 Mar 2000) |
| perforans | A term applied to several muscles and nerves which, in their course, perforate other structures. Origin: L. Perforating (05 Mar 2000) |
| elastosis perforans serpiginosa | Circinate groups of asymptomatic keratotic papules; the epidermis is thickened around a central plug of dermal elastic tissue which is extruded through the epidermis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| folliculitis nares perforans | Inflammation of a hair follicle in the nose; the infection extends to, and perforates, the cutaneous surface. (05 Mar 2000) |
