| 설명 | 자아란 성격을 집행하는 부분으로 성격의 의식에 해당하는 부분이 포함된다. 그 기능은 대부분 자동적이며 무의식에 해당하는 부분도 있다. 자아는 이드(Id)와 외계의 중재자이며, 초자아(Superego), 과거의 기억 및 신체적 욕구와도 타협한다. 자아는 현실주의에 따라 움직인다. 그 목적은 현실을 판단하고 평가하는 데 있다. 자아는 이 충동을 만족시키려 노력하나 이와 동시에 존재하는 환경의 요구를 고려하여, 필요한 경우 간접적이며 지연된 방법으로 이를 수행하는 2차적 과정의 사고를 사용한다. 이와 같은 사고는 언어적이며 논리적이고 객관성을 갖는 성숙한 인간의 주된 사고 형태이다. |
