malocclusion in which the mandibular arch is in a posterior (distal) position in relation to the maxillary arch. Generally considered identical with Class II in Angle's classification of malocclusion (see malocclusion). Called also disto-occlusion, posterior occlusion, posteroclusion, and retrusive occlusion.
