| 설명 | 점이나 또는 평면에서 양쪽에 있는 부분이 똑같은 형으로 배치되어 있는 것. 점인 경우는 점대칭, 평면인 경우는 평면대칭이라 한다. 평면상에 두 개의 도형 F와 F-가 있을 때 F상의 점 P와 F-상의 점 P-를 대응시켜 대응하는 점 P와 P-를 연결하는 항상 하나의 정점 O로써 이등분된다면 도형 F와 F-는 점 O에 대하여 점대칭이다. 또한 평면상의 두 도형 F와 F-가 있을 때 F상의 점 P와 F-상의 점 P-를 대응시켜 대응하는 점 P와 P-를 연결한 선이 항상 일정한 직선1에 의해 수직 이등분되면 도형 F와 F-는 직선에 대해 선대칭이다. 같은 방법으로 공간에서의 면대칭을 정의할 수 있다. |
