| 설명 | 선천적으로 갑상샘호르몬의 부족에 의해서 생기는 병. 갑상샘호르몬이란 목부위에 나비모양으로 생긴 갑상샘에서 나오는 호르몬으로 태아기에는 신경조직과 여러 조직, 특히 뼈와 그외 결합조직의 발달에 영향을 미치고 성인기에선 신체의 물질을 분해하여 에너지화하여 그 에너지를 발산하는 기능을 하는 호르몬이다. 선천적으로 이 호르몬이 부족할 경우에는 신경조직의 발달이 지체되어 지능이 낮고, 뼈나 기타 조직의 발달 장애에 의해서 심한 신체발달의 지체를 보인다. |
