| 설명 | 비타민 B12의 다른 이름. 비타민 B12는 유전정보를 가지고 있는 DNA의 합성에 반드시 필요한 영양소로 핵분열에 없어서는 안되는 중요한 영양소이다. 이 영양소가 결핍이 될 경우엔 거대적모구빈혈(megaloblastic anemia)라는 특징적인 빈혈이 생긴다. 이 빈혈은 핵분열에 중요한 물질인 코발라민이 결핍될 경우에 적혈구를 생산하는 세포의 분열이 일어나지 않아서 생기는 것으로 특징적으로 현미경으로 관찰할 시에 적혈구의 크기가 아주 크고 중간에 맑게 보이는 부분이 아주 작다. 비타민 B12의 흡수는 위에서 위산과 함께 분비되는 내인인자(intrinsic factor)라는 물질과 함께 결합하여 장에 와서 흡수가 된다. 만일 위에서 내인인자가 분비되지 않는다면 Vit B12는 흡수가 될 수 없어서 체내에 Vit B12의 결핍을 초래하게 된다. 이로 인해서 거대적모구빈혈가 생길 수 있다. 이렇게 위에서 내인인자의 분비 장애에 의해서 일어난 빈혈을 악성빈혈이라 한다. |
