| 설명 | 입속의 천장을 구성하며 동시에 콧구멍의 바닥을 이루는 구조물을 입천장이라 한다. 입천장은 크게 2가지로 나뉘어져 앞쪽의 뼈로 이루어진 부분을 단단입천장(hard palate)라 하고, 뒷부분의 근육성 주름을 물렁입천장(soft palate)라 한다. 주된 구조물은 건막과 근육 그리고 림프 조직이며 한가운데에는 목젖(uvula)이라고 하는 돌기가 존재한다. 목젖의 옆으로는 두개의 주름 즉 입천장혀활(palatoglossal arch)과 입천장인두궁(palatopharyngeal arch)이 존재하며 이 두 주름사이에 입천장편도(palatine tonsil)가 있다. 연구개의 기능은 음식을 삼킬 때 그 뒷끝이 인두의 뒷벽에 닿음으로써 음식물이 코로 역류하지 못하게 한다. |

| 설명 | 입천장은 두 부분으로 나뉘어져 있는데 앞쪽을 단단입천장이라고 하며, 뼈로 이루어져 있다. 뒤쪽은 물렁입천장이라고 하는데 부드러운 조직으로 덮혀 있으며, 그 뒤쪽으로 편도가 있다. 입천장은 입속의 입천장에 해당되는데, 뼈로 이루어진 단단입천장과 연조직으로 이루어진 물렁입천장으로 나뉜다. 이중 단단입천장의 앞쪽에 위치하고, 물렁입천장은 입안의 뒤쪽에 위치하는데, 그 뒤쪽으로 양쪽에 편도선이 존재하는데, 이것은 면역작용에 관여한다. 중앙에는 목젖이 있다. |
