| 설명 | 생물의 개체 발생도중에 구조-생김새 등의 비정상화 된 이상. 생물의 발생중에 생기는 각종 형태적 특징에는 개체차도 있고, 또 그 차에도 대소가 있으나 변화의 범위에는 자연히 한계가 있다. 이 범위를 벗어난 형태일 때 이것을 기형이라 한다. 병이 개체 출생시 또는 출생 후의 신생아기 이후에 발병하는데 대개 기형은 발육도중인 태생기에서 출생 사이에 생긴 개체 전체 또는 부분적인 장기형성 장애이며 선천성으로 병적인 상태이다. 통상적인 병과는 본질적으로 구별한다. 성립시기는 기형의 종류에 따라 다르지만 태생 8~10주경에 시작되어 태생 10주~3개월까지에 생기는 것으로 생각되고 있다. 기형의 종류는 크게 어떤 기관의 ① 과잉형성, ② 결여, ③ 불완전형성(심장중격결손), ④ 위치의 이상 등으로 나눌 수 있다. 기형을 일으키는 원인에는 유전적인 영향, 호르몬의 이상, 일시적-국부적인 영양의 과다, 바이러스나 방사선, 산소결핍, 기타 체내 미생물의 영향 등 내적인 것, 발생 과정에서의 파열 따위의 외적인 것이 있으며, 외적인 원인이 내적인 원인을 유발하는 일도 많다. 환경적 원인으로는 온도 등의 물리적 조건, 호르몬이나 화학약품 등이 있다. 이것들은 실험발생학이나 실험형태학-유전학의 입장에서 점차로 밝혀지고 있지만 아직 분명하지 않은 부분도 적지 않다. 기형의 연구는 정상적인 발생메커니즘을 연구하는데 중요한 단서가 된다. |

| 설명 | 급격한 혈액 공급의 차단으로 인해서 조직이 죽는 것을 말한다. 뇌경색증은 뇌의 조직이 혈류의 급격한 차단에 의해서 죽은 것을 말한다. 혈류가 완전히 차단되면 국소에 혈액이 없어지므로 그 조직에 경색이 생기게 된다. 경색이 생긴 부위는 혈액의 공급이 없으므로 원칙적으로는 정상적으로 혈류가 공급되는 부위보다 창백하고 희게 보인다. 이런 부분을 백색경색(white infarct) 또는 빈혈경색(anemic infarct)라 한다. 하지만 이 부위에 이차적으로 적혈구가 빠져 들어가면 그 부위는 피가 고이게 되고 적색을 띠게 된다. 이런 부분을 적색경색(red infarct) 또는 출혈경색(hemorrhagic infarct)이라고 한다. 뇌의 경색증에는 이 두 가지 모두 발생가능하다. |

| 설명 | 출생전, 출생시 혹은 출생후의 뇌의 선천기형, 손상 혹은 중추신경계의 병에 의해서 영구적이며, 비진행성인 운동신경 및 정신장애를 일으키는 경우를 뜻한다. 원인은 여러 가지가 있을 수 있으나 조산으로 인한 뇌의 산소공급의 부족, 또는 난산으로 인한 호흡장애 등이 흔한 원인이다. 증상은 대개 비진행성의 뇌 병변으로 인한 운동장애가 대표적인 증상이며 그외에 청력, 시력의 장애, 지능부전, 언어장애, 경련 및 정신장애 등이 동반될 수 있다. |
