| central serous retinopathy | Detachment of the sensory retina induced by decreased adhesion between cells of the retinal pigment epithelium which permits plasma from the choriocapillaris to enter subretinal space. Synonym: central angiospastic retinopathy, central serous retinopathy. (05 Mar 2000) |

| central serous choroidopathy | Detachment of the sensory retina induced by decreased adhesion between cells of the retinal pigment epithelium which permits plasma from the choriocapillaris to enter subretinal space. Synonym: central angiospastic retinopathy, central serous retinopathy. (05 Mar 2000) |

| central angiospastic retinopathy | Detachment of the sensory retina induced by decreased adhesion between cells of the retinal pigment epithelium which permits plasma from the choriocapillaris to enter subretinal space. Synonym: central angiospastic retinopathy, central serous retinopathy. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Bogros' serous membrane | A membrane of the episcleral space (of Tenon). (05 Mar 2000) |
| parietal layer of serous pericardium | The outer part of the serous pericardium suported by the fibrous pericardium. Synonym: lamina parietalis pericardii. (05 Mar 2000) |
| visceral layer of serous pericardium | The inner part of the serous pericardium applied directly on the heart. Synonym: epicardium, lamina visceralis pericardii. (05 Mar 2000) |
| cystadenocarcinoma, serous | A malignant cystic or saemicystic neoplasm. It often occurs in the ovary and usually bilaterally. The external surface is usually covered with papillary excrescences. Microscopically, the papillary patterns are predominantly epithelial overgrowths with differentiated and undifferentiated papillary serous cystadenocarcinoma cells. Psammoma bodies may be present. The tumour generally adheres to surrounding structures and produces ascites. (12 Dec 1998) |
| cystadenoma, serous | A cystic tumour of the ovary, containing thin, clear, yellow serous fluid and varying amounts of solid tissue, with a malignant potential several times greater than that of mucinous cystadenoma (cystadenoma, mucinous). It can be unilocular, parvilocular, or multilocular. It is often bilateral and papillary. The cysts may vary greatly in size. (12 Dec 1998) |
| serous | <physiology> Thin; watery; like serum; as the serous fluids. Of or pertaining to serum; as, the serous glands, membranes, layers. <anatomy> See serous membrane. Origin: Cf. F. Sereux. (12 May 1998) |
| serous atrophy | A degenerative change occurring in fat cells, the fat being absorbed and its place being taken by a serous fluid. (05 Mar 2000) |
| serous cell | A cell, especially of the salivary gland, that secretes a watery or thin albuminous fluid, as opposed to a mucous cell. Synonym: albuminous cell. (05 Mar 2000) |
| serous coat | serous membrane |
| serous cyst | A cyst containing clear serous fluid, such as a hygroma. (05 Mar 2000) |
| serous demilunes | The serous cells at the distal end of a mucous, tubuloalveolar secretory unit of certain salivary glands. Synonym: Giannuzzi's crescents, Giannuzzi's demilunes, Heidenhain's crescents, Heidenhain's demilunes. (05 Mar 2000) |
| serous diarrhoea | Diarrhoea characterised by watery stools. (05 Mar 2000) |
| serous gland | An exocrine gland that produces a watery, protein rich secretion, as opposed to a carbohydrate rich mucous secretion. (18 Nov 1997) |
| central serous retinopathy |
a usually self-limiting condition marked by acute localized detachment of the neural retina or retinal pigment epithelium in the region of the macula, with hypermetropia; called also central angiospastic retinitis or retinopathy.

| central serous retinopathy |
Disorder in which fluid collects under the central retina (macular area) and disrupts central vision. The cause is unknown. Symptoms include blurred central vision and metamorphopsia. Some patients also develop floaters.
