| 설명 | 피부나 점막, 기타의 조직을 의료 기계를 사용하여 자르거나 째거나 조작을 가하여 병을 고치는 일. 피를 내며 하는 관혈적 수술과, 피를 내지 않고 하는 무혈적 수술이 있다. 의학은 외과수술로부터 시작되었다. 그것은 체내에 들어간 이물이나 체내에 발생한 고름 같은 것의 제거가 최초였다고 추정된다. 본격적인 외과수술은 1846년 말 치과의사인 W.T.G. 모턴에 의한 에테르 흡입마취법의 발명과 1867년 J. 리스터에 의한 무균법의 확립에 의해 이루어졌다. 끓는 물 또는 증기에 의한 수술기구의 멸균법이 발달하고, 수술 부위나 손가락의 소독이 행하여지게 됨으로써 안전한 수술이 기대되게 되었다. 현재에서는 외과의의 메스가 미치지 않는 영역은 없다. 외과영역이 넓어짐에 따라 외과수술에도 분화가 일어나 해당영역에 의한 전문화가 이루어지게 되었다. |

| slipped capital femoral epiphysis | <orthopaedics> This refers to chronic fracture of the epiphyseal growth plate known as a slipped capital femoral epiphysis. The capital (head of the femur) should sit squarely on the femoral neck. Abnormal movement along the growth plate results in the slip. Often this condition will present in prepubescent males with an insidious onset of thigh or knee pain with a painful limp. Hip motion will be limited, particularly internal rotation.
