| 설명 | 유전병의 하나로 땀샘, 기관지에서 점액을 분비하는 샘, 이자등의 외분비샘(몸 밖으로 액체를 분비하는 샘. 내분비샘을 제외한 모든 샘을 이른다)의 이상을 특징으로 하는 병이다. 중요한 병적인 변화는 주로 기관지에서 점액을 분비하는 분비샘에서 지나치게 점도가 높은 점액이 분비되어 기관지를 막아 호흡장애를 일으키는 폐의 병터이며, 땀에서 과도한 전해질 특히 염화나트륨(NaCl)이 분비되어 몸에 전해질이 부족하게 된다. 또 이자의 소화액을 분비하는 분비샘의 이상으로 이자관이 막히거나 이자의 기능이 떨어져서 소화의 장애를 일으키기도 한다. 유태계에 많으며 우리나라에는 아주 드물다. |

| 설명 | 발육속도가 완만하여 성장에 한계가 있고, 주위와의 경계가 명확하며, 다른 조직으로 퍼지지 않으며, 침윤이나 전이를 일으키지 아니하는 종양. 섬유종이나 지방종 따위가 전형적인 예이다. 양성종양은 종양이 존재한다고 해도 1차적으로 숙주의 생명을 위협하는 일은 없다. 양성종양의 발육형식은 주위의 조직간에 왕래하는 일이 없이 주위의 조직을 밀어내며 증식한다. 발육속도는 완만하며 전이하거나 절제 후 재발하는 일이 극히 드물다. 종양성분은 변이체이긴 하지만 성숙한 정상세포와 거의 다른 것이 없다. 전신에 대한 영향은 악성종양의 경우 어느 정도 발육했을 때 전신의 영양상태가 손상되어 카켁시아가 되지만 양성종양의 경우 이런 일은 거의 없다. 양성종양과 악성종양의 성상의 차이에 엄밀한 경계는 없고, 경계경변으로 보이는 종양도 있다. |

| 설명 | 50세 이상의 남성에 빈발하는 병으로 전립샘의 요도 주위 영역에 큰결절을 형성하여, 이것이 커지면 요도를 압박하여 부분적 혹은 완전한 요도폐색을 일으키는 병이다. 증상은 요도폐색에 따른 소변의 감소와 방광자극증상으로 빈뇨, 잔뇨감, 소변을 참을 수 없는 증상 등이다. 치료는 경요도 전립샘 적출술로 전립선의 비대한 부분을 절제해야 한다. |

| nephroma, mesoblastic | A malignant tumour of the kidney characterised by spindled myofibroblastic cells arranged in sheets or bundles with a tendency to infiltrate into the adjoining normal kidney and through the capsule into the perirenal tissues. | carcinoma, adenoid cystic | Carcinoma characterised by bands or cylinders of hyalinised or mucinous stroma separating or surrounded by nests or cords of small epithelial cells. When the cylinders occur within masses of epithelial cells, they give the tissue a perforated, sievelike, or cribriform appearance. Such tumours occur in the mammary glands, the mucous glands of the upper and lower respiratory tract, and the salivary glands.
