| 설명 | 여러 가지 원인으로 호중구의 감소를 일으키는 병태의 총칭이며, 혈액중의 호중구가 2,000/mm3 이하의 상태를 말한다. 원인으로 선천적, 체질적인 것과, 이차적인 것으로 크게 나뉜다. 선천적 또는 체질적인 것에는 유전성호중구감소증, 이자기능부족을 수반하는 호중구감소증, 만성저형성성호중구감소증, 만성무과립구증, 주기성호중구감소증 등이 있다. 이차적인 것에는 약물, 화학물질에 의한 것, 방사선에 의한 것, 감염증, 면역성호중구감소증 등이 있다. 급성, 만성이 있으며, 특히 만성의 호중구감소증에서는 감염이 반복되어서 치료에 대한 반응이 나쁘다. |

| autoimmune thrombocytopenia purpura | <haematology> A rare autoimmune disorder characterised by an acute shortage of platelets with resultant bruising and spontaneous bleeding. The platelet count becomes exceedingly low and spontaneous bleeding from the gums, gastrointestinal tract and nose can be seen. Physical examination may demonstrate enlargement of the spleen. A typical rash occurs to do microscopic haemorrhage of small blood vessels in the skin. Platelet counts under 10,000 can lead to spontaneous haemorrhage into the brain causing death. Treatment with corticosteroids is generally effective. Surgical removal of the spleen (splenectomy) is reserved for some patients. Anti-platelet antibodies are detectable in some cases.
