| artery to the sinuatrial node | Ascending atrial branch, usually (55%) arising from the anterior stem of the right coronary artery (but 35-45% arising from the circumflex branch of the left coronary artery), which runs around the base of the superior vena cava to reach the sinuatrial node. | sinuatrial node | <anatomy, cardiology, physiology> The impulse generating (pacemaker) tissue located in the right atrium, under the epicardium at the upper end of the sulcus terminalis. The specialised cardiac muscle fibres generate cardiac impulses that normally acts as the pacemaker of the cardiac conduction system. Normal impulses start in the sinoatrial node and are transmitted to the ventricles, through the atrioventricular node and into the bundle of His. Synonym: nodus sinuatrialis, atrionector, Flack's node, Keith and Flack node, Keith's node, Koch's node, sinoatrial node, sinus node. (20 Jun 2000) |
| sinuatrial nodal artery | <anatomy, artery> A branch usually of the right coronary artery that supplies the sinuatrial node. Synonym: sinus node artery. (05 Mar 2000) |
| sinuatrial | <anatomy> Relating to the sinus venosus and the right atrium of the heart. Synonym: sinuatrial. (20 Jun 2000) |
| sinuatrial chamber | <anatomy> The common chamber formed by the single embryonic atrium and the right and left horns of the sinus venosus. (20 Jun 2000) |
| artery to atrioventricular node | The atrioventricular branches or the nodal branches, the small arteries supplying the atrioventricular node; they usually arise from the right coronary artery where it starts to descend the posterior interventricular sulcus. Synonym: ramus nodi atrioventricularis, atrioventricular nodal branch, branch to atrioventricular node. (05 Mar 2000) |

See: orbital branch of middle meningeal artery. Synonym: ramus anastomoticus arteriae meningeae mediae cum lacrimali. (05 Mar 2000) |
| angiofollicular mediastinal lymph node hyperplasia | Solitary masses of lymphoid tissue containing concentric perivascular aggregates of lymphocytes, occurring usually in the mediastinum or hilar region of young adults; similar changes have been reported outside the mediastinum and, if associated with interfollicular sheets of plasma cells, may progress to lymphoma or plasmacytoma. Synonym: angiofollicular mediastinal lymph node hyperplasia, Castleman's disease. (05 Mar 2000) |
